Honestly, when I first signed up for the first 10k exchange, I had very little confidence that I would be able to write a story for that many words (granted, it was for an exchange that let you make up the 10k via breaking it up into 1k increments, but, you know, same principle). I've discovered I really enjoy writing longfic—it's a nice break between all the shortfic exchanges!
