Cheating/ infidelity where the cheating happens between the two characters requested.
Complicated relationships. Enemies to lovers. Enemies to friends to lovers. Friends to lovers. Enemy lovers.
Coping with trauma. Exploration of trauma. Recovery from trauma. Healthy and/or unhealthy coping mechanisms.
Emotional and physical vulnerability and intimacy. Consent when touching.
Epistolary. Letter writing (sent and unsent). Diary entries, journal entries, articles written by journalistic characters. Emails—funny subject lines, funny email addresses, not using the work email for only non-personal things. Revealing feelings. Hiding angst. Detailing trauma. A note on dubcon and noncon: I'm fine with receiving either. For noncon, I'd like to avoid violent rape wherein violent such as slapping, hitting, etc. is used to overpower someone. I prefer dubcon and noncon to have an emotional manipulation element to it.

Being mind controlled, struggling with the ramifications of mind control. False memories. Character A mind controls Character B into believing that they are Character C who they would consensually have sex with. Amnesia and someone taking advantage of the memory gaps.
Pissing themselves because they're so overstimulated and aren't able to control their bladder. (Preference is for this to be accidental and not to be the core kink.)
Under-negotiated kink. Non-negotiated kink (as long as it's not a DNW). Penetration in the wrong hole. Agree to oral but penetration still happens.
Surprise penetration during frottage. Just the tip but cock or object fully inserted.

Using sex as a bargaining chip. Character feels as though they owe their captor sex. Captor not dissuading victim from not bargaining with sex. Sex to save someone's life, even if that life isn't actually in danger.

Implanting characters into a twisted myth. Give me a folklore myth that goes awry. A new take on well-known horror myths like Bloody Mary.
Spells gone wrong. It brings someone back from the dead wrong. Curses someone to be haunted or live out their darkest and deepest fears.
Halloween. Deep dive into the myth of Halloween or give me something dorky. Is it about witches? Ghosts? The dead coming back to Earth? Halloween used as a backdrop.
Spirits, ghosts. Focus on life/death. Hauntings.
What is it that someone keeps hidden deep inside? What secrets do characters keep close to the chest? What does someone feel guilty over? Who is it that they grieve for?
Time loop. Things keep getting worse with every loop. Nothing seems to change regardless of what a character does. Character has to keep witnessing the people they love die—first loop is Character A, second loop is Character B. Time loops until they save the person they need to save.
Creepy forests; creepy woods. Woods being alive; trees move, vines reach out, birds watch over and report back to the heart of the woods. Something is hunting them. Little Red Riding Hood but spookier.
Stuck in an abandoned building that's haunted. Warehouse. Mansion. Asylum.
Obsessiveness. Joe Goldberg and Michael Meyers is probably the best way to explain it.
Solving cases. Are we solving a haunting? Are we looking for something in a haunted house? Do we want to prove that the allegedly haunted house isn't haunted at all? Do we want to solve a years' old murder?
Ritual sex.
Aftermath. Dealing with trauma. Sex for comfort. How do they cope after a horrific event?
Apocalypses. Zombies. Werewolves. Something magical. If your soulmate/partner dies, your time is up.
Forced to face something that they've been avoiding.
Slow-burn horror. Jumpscares. Tricking the reader. Unreliable narrator. Is this thing even haunted?
Parody/meta horror. I really love Scream and what it says on horror tropes. Spin a horror trope on its head.
Michael Meyers-esque horror figures who are just hard to kill and are absolutely intimidating.
Hopeful endings. A slightly bad end is great, but having an ending that's hopeful or bittersweet is more preferred than a bad end for the selected characters. (A Series of Unfortunate Events has the type of hopeful endings that I like.)
Favourite horror films/tv: Scream, Scream 2, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween (2018), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003, 2006), The Frighteners (1996), Saw I, Jeepers Creepers, What Lies Beneath, House on Haunted Hill (1999), Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, American Psycho, Hocus Pocus, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Stranger Things (season 1 and 4's mystery and vibe), You (book and Netflix), and The Vampire Diaries seasons 1-2 had great horror-like vibes.
Dr Strange: Multiverse of Madness had a lot of horror tropes that I liked—a hard-to-beat villain, jumpscares, psychological trauma on display, guilt on display, doppelgängers, and dark magic.

Animal abuse or cruelty. I'd prefer this to be excluded even if it's a canonical event. References are fine. I'd like to opt-out of receiving a gift that details how the abuse happened.
AUs such as:
Character bashing wherein the focus on a particular character is only extremely negative, i.e. they're consistently put down for the sake of advancing the requested relationship with it made very clear that they have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I'm happy for character studies on these characters and for negative traits and decisions to be mentioned/discussed and those be the reasons why a relationship breakdown happens (some people do make shitty decisions, after all!), but I'd prefer that they be nuanced and fair and not be passionate putdowns. (For instance, if X lies to Requested Character and Requested Character feels they can never trust them again, that's fine!)
Deathfic where a requested character dies and it's an unhappy ending. I'm okay with secondary characters who aren't a part of my requested characters dying. I'm okay with a requested character who has died being dead and exploring death as long as it doesn't have an unhappy ending. (Exploring purgatory/what comes after death is fine.) I'm okay with canonically dead characters being dead as long as the story's central point isn't about the actual act of killing them. (Exploring how they died, their guilt, their need to move on, etc. is fine, but I want to opt out of receiving a gift where the story's sole purpose is to see the character die with no resolution/closure.) I usually include a note in my sign-up when this is excepted considering I do request canonically dead characters.
Extreme underage. I prefer anything that features someone 16 years and older.
References to terminal illnesses and COVID unless it's a part of the canon.
Unrequested genderswaps and sexuality headcanons.
Unrequested permanent changes to a character's species. Generally, when I prompt it, I like it to be temporary.
Unrequested ships being the main focus. Acknowledgement of canon ships or past ships is fine. Background ships are A-OK. If the ship isn't one of my requested ships or a canon ship, please don't include it.
Violent rape. I'd prefer to avoid receiving anything noncon where the victim is slapped, hit, thrown violently around, etc. Manhandling is fine.

Apocalypse: COVID-19. If you want to do an apocalypse that is virus-based, as long as it isn't COVID-19 (I'm happy for a fictional virus), I'm all good.
Body horror/mutilation. (If you need an idea of what is too much for me, Saw II onwards.) I'm okay with people getting physically hurt and bleeding, but I want to opt-out of receiving loss of limbs and eye gore etc.
Eye trauma.
Permanent character death of requested characters (unless otherwise requested) where the story focuses on them dying or has them permanently dying. Other characters are all good! (If I requested a character that isn't in the pairing you selected to write, kill 'em!) If the character is already dead in canon, then I'm happy to receive a gift that acknowledges that they're dead and is all about them being dead. Think purgatory-esque stories, making peace, moving on, resurrection, etc. There are some fandoms where I'm okay with the request character(s) dying, so I will always make sure to include a note whenever this DNW is excepted in my sign-up.
Permanent monster transformations. Cool with a character temporarily being a werewolf. This is excepted if the character is canonically a monster i.e. werewolf.
Medical horror involving using instruments to torture someone (I'm fine if it leads up to it and then it doesn't happen).

CANON NOTES: I'm more than happy for you to lean into the dark, dubcon aspects of the canon, especially given Finnick's backstory post-his Games.
FINNICK
Finnick is one of my favourite characters. I love him for his charisma and how complex he is as a character. He uses his charm and good looks as a shield, and many people aren't bothered to look past that. I like how he can use that to his advantage and gather his secrets and a way to overpower someone like Snow, who underestimates someone who looks and acts like Finnick.
There are so many unknowns about Finnick, like what his family life was like, how he took to the Victor's Village, and how he coped in 4 after his win and when his public persona was starting to be formed. One thing I like is giving him a happy family, especially as I feel it contrasts a lot of other Victor's (especially Johanna, who I feel would be his best friend in the universe).
I feel like there's a lot to explore with him. What's Finnick's relationship with his body like? Who is the real Finnick Odair? Does Finnick hide who he is to protect himself or has he lost his sense of identity over the years? How did he view the Games before he was Reaped and won? Who was Mags to him in the beginning? How did he feel as a Mentor?
I do love Sam Claflin as Finnick, but am happy for other visual representations of him!

FINNICK/ANNIE
What I love most about Finnick and Annie's relationship is that if it wasn't for the Games, their relationship would be regarded as any other relationship, but because Finnick is who he is and Annie's perceived the way that she is, they're a secret relationship that's so layered due to the politics of the world.
I love Finnick and how he turned a really shitty, abusive situation into one that benefited him. I like the idea of him being someone who's incredibly protective of the people around him and those he cares about, and losing that romantic outlook on the Games as time goes on. I'd love to receive something that explores his relationship with the Games, the persona he has to put forward in order to appease Snow, the ways he loses himself and regains himself, and how Annie helps centre him.
I feel like Annie is a bit of a blank book at times, especially since her characterisation feels very one-note in the books. But what I like about Annie is that she's clearly a strong person who was broken down by the Games and the compounded trauma she experienced in such a small space of time. She's from a Career District, so surely she would've been trained in preparation for being reaped. I like the idea of her being a headstrong person who's traumatised by what she's been forced to endure. I'd love to receive something that fleshes Annie out and gives her layers, that explores how trauma can impact someone, how she protects Finnick and how he protects her, and how she regains her agency that the Games stole from her. I think it means something that Annie was one of the few Victors who voted against sending the Capitol children into their own Games; she's angry and hurt and has lost so much, but she knows how to break the toxic cycle, and that's something I'd love to see explored for her character.
I love them as a pairing because they're unexpected. I'd like to think that Finnick was Annie's mentor and that he went to great lengths to ensure her safety. I'd also like to think that Annie might have gone to great lengths to protect Finnick (and Mags) during the Quarter Quell.
I'm happy to receive something that's pre-canon, during Annie's Games, post-Annie's Games in the Victor's Village, during the Quarter Quell, an au on the rebellion and post-canon.
I do love the idea of Annie being a WOC.

FINNICK/KATNISS
What I love about Finnick and Katniss is their banter. I like how they have this great back and forth, this easy trust between them, and how they're vulnerable with one another. I feel as though they come from different parts of the world that they find great comfort in each other because they just get each other. Katniss sees Finnick for the man he is, not the peacock he presents. Finnick doesn't expect Katniss to be anyone but herself, and that woman she often is is flawed. Their friendship is amazing.
I feel like there's some great potential for them to develop a romance. They're prime friends-to-lovers imo! Finnick and Katniss are both protectors and I can see the two of them protecting each other and not quite knowing what to do about it. Finnick's the type to open Katniss' world up while Katniss would remind Finnick to live for himself. They're both caretakers and selfless people, but I feel like, together, they can encourage each other to be healthily selfish.
I'm more than happy for you to kill off Annie and Peeta to make this coupling work.

THESE TWO. I love that they are friends-to-lovers. I love that they are sunshine and dark grey clouds. I love that Nikolai is talkative and charming and Zoya is straight to the fact and ready to punch anyone who annoys her. I love that Zoya is so protective of Nikolai that she'll risk his ire and upset to protect him. I love that Nikolai understands Zoya doesn't need his protection but he'll still throw a fist into someone's jaw because he can.
I love their banter. I love how stupidly stubborn both of them are. I love how Nikolai's the one who's more emotionally open while Zoya hides her emotions because of childhood trauma. I love how they simply fit together, and how neither of them overshadows the other. And what I love most is how they believe in each other so wholeheartedly. Zoya sees Nikolai for who he is, and Nikolai sees Zoya for who she is. I just think they're lovely together, and they were my favourite part in the Nikolai series.

SANKT JURIS & ZOYA
I really enjoyed these two so much in King of Scars. I liked that Juris called Zoya out on her bullshit and encouraged her to be better. I like that he was never soft with her, and that he never babied her, either. He was the kind of mentor that she needed, and I love that he was someone she grew to respect and be vulnerable with.
I really wish we got to see more of Juris. He was such a great teacher, and I really liked what we got of his story. How does he deal with his dragon? Does he ever lose himself in the memories? Did he ever sense that Elizaveta was up to something malicious? Did he try and stop her, or had he given up?
I'm happy if you want to combine this with Nikolai/Zoya.

I love all the Crows equally but Inej is my favourite. I love how she calls Kaz out. I love how she knows who she is and never lets anyone take her identity away from her even when it seems like they almost succeed in it. I love that Inej hated "The Wraith" as a name and took control of it and transformed it into something that she was proud of. She's a resilient person who I feel deserves all the accolades. She adapts and adapts well, and I love that while she's grown hard during her time in Ketterdam that she doesn't let it carve out the softer parts of who she is.
I also love that she refuses to allow other people to experience what she experienced as a child. She's such a good person and incredibly protective of those she cares about. And while I adore Kaz/Inej, I love, love, love that she chose herself and refused to settle for anything less from a boy who wants her but can't emotionally open himself up to her. Inej knows how she is and she sticks by it, and I love that most about her.

KAZ/INEJ
I really, really love Kaz pining for Inej. I love his POV chapters so much because Inej is always on his brain—and why wouldn't she be? She's amazing! I love how he pushes her away and how he tries to put distance between them because Kaz can't do intimacy in any form that it comes in. But I love that he's ride or die and such a simp for her and will do absolutely anything for her.
AND HE WANTS TO TOUCH HER. UGH. WHAT A LOSER.
What I love about Inej is not only is she a WOC, she's given personality, a character arc, her own issues, and she's beloved by a canonical white man. (As a WOC, it's so great to see someone who looks like me be represented in such a fantastic and fully fleshed way and to be seen as a love interest rather than a mere caricature.) I love seeing Inej's strengths and her vulnerabilities, and I love, love, love how she refuses to compromise on what she wants, even if it means losing Kaz.
They work together so well. Not only are they professionally so well-tuned, I think Inej understands that Kaz has a phobia of touching and she never forces the issue. She never tries to find out his secrets. She leaves sit alone and lets him come to her in his own time. There's a level of respect between them that I love, even if Kaz can sometimes be an asshole. Inej understands Kaz on such an intimate level, even without knowing his full story. I love that Inej is his right-hand woman and that he tells her things that he doesn't share with anyone else. Their level of trust with one another is superb and so fantastic, and they're definitely what OTPs are made of.
The one thing I wish the book did was to allow Inej to exist with her trauma. She's such a compelling young woman and I'd have loved to have read more about her as a survivor than to have Inej only ever really brush her trauma aside and help Kaz navigate through his.

Ugh. THESE TWO. They are so useless together! I love how they're an enemies to lovers trope. I love how Matthias has damned everything he knows to be with Nina and I love that Nina, who can absolutely kill this man, doesn't. I loved their scenes in the whale huts. I loved their angst. I love how Matthias is all grizzly on the outside but simps hard for Nina on the inside. They're absolutely perfect together and I love how complimentary they are despite being polar opposites.
I love that Nina talks and is vulgar and owns her confidence. She's sexually confident and shows it, and I love how she refuses to allow anyone to shame her for it. I love how she's sassy and I love how she always has something smart to say. She definitely keeps people at a difference as emotional vulnerability doesn't seem to be a thing she particularly favours. I also love her Grisha ability and the fact that she tries to use facets of it to help others even if she's not skilled in it.
Matthias is such a softie. "My ghost won't associate with your ghost." Nina's always on the brain. I love how he's this reluctant Crow, but he never, ever betrays them, even when he should. He's got a heart of gold, even if he's misguided by how he was raised.

There were so many missed opportunities between Natasha and Bucky.
I particularly love their Red Room connection and history in the comics and am more than happy to have that exist in anything you create!
I love that Natasha has someone who she can love and call home and who gets that she's someone who doesn't open up easily. I feel like Natasha is someone who could give Bucky the space to learn who he is and not push him into being someone else—or someone else again. They can trauma bond, but I feel like, most importantly, they just Get one another.
They understand one another. They know what it's like to be used as objects and as instruments of destruction and mayhem. Natasha would understand what it's like not to know yourself, and I think Bucky would understand more than anything that it is like to feel like you have so much red on your hands you can't wash it off.
I think that they'd have great banter together. Natasha's dry wit with Bucky's fun ribbing would be a great fit. I think she'd make him blush a lot, but he'd definitely make her blush with his well-intentioned compliments and even his own gentle jesting.

This movie is so fucked up. I love the psychology behind it and how people will do anything and rationalise anything to ensure that they stay in some fucked up good graces.
I really like how Grace was a Final Girl like Sidney Prescott who was in over her head and easily adapted to the fucked up situation she found herself in. I love that she struggled, that she hated what she had to do, and that she was tenacious in surviving. I really liked how Daniel was so fucked up from his childhood and his shitty family that he wasn't like them at all, but was quietly rebelling while also doing his best to not spook Grace away while trying to spook her away.
I really love their chemistry and wish we got more of them in the movie. I like how he gave off a certain vibe that worked against his desire to see Grace out of the family. I love how Grace came to trust Daniel because he was the only one who was real with her from the very beginning (even pre-movie). I love the guy who's so tired and messed up but still does the right thing despite being forced to do the wrong thing and even play along—and I love the girl who comes out of this shitty thing a little charred, but no longer as naive as she was before.

I haven't read the book, but I recently watched the show and I really, really enjoyed the chemistry and dynamic between Sweeney and Laura. I really enjoyed how this small woman had such physical power over this giant man and how he also had this emotional maturity that she seemed to lack. Their whole promised Bonnie and Clyde dynamic was delicious, and they were my favourite part of the show.
I loved their banter, their chemistry, their inability to really understand how they felt about one another. I love how protective Sweeney is of Laura and how Laura's in denial about how she feels about Sweeney. I really like how Sweeney is the emotionally mature one of the two of them, and how Laura comes back to life with Sweeney, who doesn't ask her to be anyone but herself, even if that's unlikeable.

I have always loved Literati. I love their banter and their easy chemistry. Jess challenges Rory to step out of her comfort zone and consider being Rory for Rory, not the Rory Lorelai wants or the town expects. They compliment each other in so many ways. They can have dorky intelligent conversations, nerd out over books, have deep emotional conversations (which I wish we got more of throughout the season), and can relax around one another.
Jess was a good boyfriend to Rory, even though we never got to see it. We got told about it in dialogue, though! He saves up all his money to take her out. He always makes time for her even when he's run out of it. Jess' issue in season 3 was he wasn't emotionally ready to be in a relationship yet. Their timing was always off.
I love that Rory can let her hair down and be someone who isn't perfect. Jess encourages her to be a flawed person. He encourages her to take what she wants and to go for it, and he's the only person who seems to get Rory the most. Everyone treated Rory with kid gloves when she dropped out of Yale and spiralled, but Jess was the only one who called her out on her shit and asked her "Who are you?"
Rory does become someone who I feel is a caricature of herself. I loved that she was always so unapologetically nerdy and smart, and also very, very naive. I liked that she was learning who she was, what that means to her, and how she was trying to find out who she was outside of Lorelai's shadow. I actually did like Mitchum Huntzberger criticising Rory in the later seasons and saying she didn't have what it took to be a journalist because it really showed that Rory had been wrapped in a safe bubble for her entire life. She still hadn't learned how to take criticism and either take it on board and grow or shrug it off. Jess is so the opposite of that—and I feel like it was a missed opportunity that Rory never leaned on him for support on how to grow thicker skin.
At the end, Jess did kind of deserve better than how Rory treated him. But I think that they are perfect for one another. They always come back to each other. I think it's pretty poignant that they never slept together—they always had such an intimate relationship on so many other levels.

LOGAN/RORY
I really liked Logan and Rory together, especially because he didn't really take any shit from her and encouraged her to be a little more independent and own her bullshit. Logan didn't coddle Rory like Stars Hollow did, and I really like how she was forced to realise that not everything always went her way.
What I really like about them is how Logan matured into someone who felt confident in himself and being good enough to be in a relationship with someone. I did like the potential of Rory's character (I'm admittedly not her biggest fan in the later seasons) and how she grew to become slightly more independent and someone who started to make decisions for herself and live the life she wanted. I really liked that Rory didn't accept Logan's proposal at the end of the show; I felt that it was a good choice for her character as it allowed Rory to go find who she was without being tied to a love interest, and it gave her a lot of autonomy that I felt she lacked in the show when paired off all the time.
Their banter is so great. I feel like Logan keeps up with Rory and Lorelai pretty well, and I like that Logan challenges Rory to step outside of her comfort zone. The one thing I love most about Logan is how he'll go against his family and stand up for Rory. He's so fearless and such a good dude how doesn't get enough credit sometimes.

I love that they stand up for each other, that they're so passionate, and that they calm each other, too. My favourite storyline was Davina resurrecting Kol and refusing to give up on him. She loves him with her whole being and Kol understands that—and is shaken by it, too.
I love the dynamic of this powerful immortal being in love with a powerful mortal. I love that Kol is this unpredictable and dangerous Original Vampire who is tamed beneath the hand of Davina. I love that he taught her how to love magic and she taught him how to love himself.

KLAUS/ELENA
I know this relationship is all kinds of fucked up, which is why I like it a lot. Klaus is definitely the big powerhouse physically between them, but I think that Elena gives as good as she gets and can emotionally manipulate Klaus as she is quite compassionate (in the early seasons, at least).
What I love about them is how fucked up it is. He tried to kill her—and successfully did so—and took her family away from her by murdering Jenna. He wanted to kill her best friend, uproot her entire life in Mystic Falls, and use her as a blood bag. How I read Elena's character at times is that she is a martyr, as established in the show, but she's also someone who has suicidal tendencies. Why else would she try and go toe to toe with powerful vampires when she's a human who could be snapped in half like a twig in just a few seconds? Elena likes the rush, the adrenaline, the danger.
What I'd love to see if them having to work together, even growing dangerously codependent on each other. He needs her to create hybrids and Elena needs him to punish herself for surviving her parents' fatal car crash.
I'm mostly attracted to them being a fucked up and toxic pairing with a few similarities shared between them. I'd love to see elements of Stockholm Syndrome in this.
I do have a preference for Elena being human and their dynamic in seasons 1-3, but if you want to write her as a vampire, go for it!

What I love about the doppelgängers is the potential they had in season 2. Elena finally gets to learn about where she comes from! Katherine gets to see that her daughter got to live a life and continue on her family line. There's so much history and family between them that we never get to see the complexities of their relationship.
I really like Katherine's power over Elena and the fact that she holds all the cards, but I also appreciate that Elena is capable of being compassionate towards Katherine and her life despite what Katherine's intentions are towards her. Elena's able to disarm Katherine in a way that the Salvatores can't—in season 2, she's a particularly compassionate person who sees people for who they are rather than the caricatures that they try to appear as.
I would prefer not to see anything about Katherine wanting to be Elena. Her speech in the season 4 finale felt so OOC to me. She doesn't want to be Elena, she wants to be herself—and that's who she has always been fighting for since she was 17 years old.
I do prefer human Elena and her season 2 counterpart the most as I found that she was someone who was both compassionate and selfish, and she had a tenacity for survival that was a softer version of Katherine's. I'd prefer her to stay human unless her vampire self is requested.

I love the physical chemistry between Geralt and Yennefer and how they soften one another. I love how in tune they are to one another, how they compliment one another, and how Geralt understands Yennefer saying she fantasises about him being beheaded is her way of saying she loves him.
He gets her in a way that not many people do. I think Geralt sees the survivor in Yennefer that many ignore. Yennefer inspires Geralt to be vulnerable, to want something and someone for himself, and see himself as someone who can be desired and have desires. I just wish these two idiots would get their shit together!
I really liked them in season 3 part 1, especially 3x05. Their banter, chemistry, the bickering, and how Geralt did as Yennefer asked and Yennefer was exasperated by him was so perfect. I love seeing them work together as detective partners, and I love seeing them as coparents of Ciri.
